Well it was going to happen sooner or later. Makes you wonder if Guild Wars is nothing more but a massive test bed

Still its the lack of monthly fees which keeps me interested in playing overall, that and the gameplay. Have no real interest in another MMO, I already pay for Planetside.

Yea NCSoft is using Anets engine from GW for atleast 3 upcoming titles I have seen thus far. Show how versital the engine actually is. Can do SCI FI too with little effort... And As you can see can implament Many skills at same time like WoW if they so chose...

I went and checked up further screenshots for AION.. The graphics seems a bit like WoW, the characters on close up looks from like Lineage 2 and the User Interface looks like Guild Wars... haha interesting.

*cough*

Aion is actually running on a new engine developed specifically for the game. Looks amazing, doesn't it?

Well yes... I would be concerned if there were 8... Can anyone say Guild Wars clone?
But nah, it's probably like every other MMORPG where you can access any of your skills at any time...

Hmm it is very unoriginal.. but then again why waste perfectly good code?

With this in mind we really should demand more from future expansions!

Um - clone much?? Hope you don't plan on charging for it NCSoft because I doubt many will pay to play for a GW clone - even if you get more skills.

It does raise some deeper questions..

Is it the content or the game client that made Guild Wars?

I bet it's not like GW at all. Maybe it's about a group of heroes trying to resque Prince Ulrik from a Xarr invasion

So I'm totally wrong then

But it does look totally similar

Either great minds think alike or imitation is a form of flattery... or both!!!

Just because it uses the same engine (which I'm not even sure it does... just because the graphics and interface are similar?) doesn't mean it's going to be a similar game.

It's probably going to be a lot more like typical MMOs... Like, completely persistent world with only few instances, higher max level with more focus on grind and who has better gear... more "cookie-cutter" characters because everyone who picks a certain class gets the same set of skills to use... etc.

Just cuz it looks the same, doesn't mean it is the same.

A link would be nice... Is there a one for this information? I'd like to read about it a little.

If they ever have a sci-fi GW clone, I am so there.
